Frida Kahlo

Last night my flatmate and I watched the movie 'Frida' about Frida Kahlo.
Wow this was quite an intense film , which is fair enough because she had an amazing and depressing life.
Its weird to think that someone can go through so much pain and just peddle out these amazing pieces of art.
This reminds me of a quote me sociology lecturer said once ...
"Italy for thirty years under the Borgias had warfare, terror, murder, bloodshed, but produced Michelangelo, DaVinci, and the Renaissance. And Switzerland had brotherly love and five hundred years of democracy and peace. And what did they produce? The cuckoo clock."
Orson Welles from the 1949 picture "The Third Man"

Thousands are sailing

The BDO use to be something that I just couldn't wait to be old enough to go to .
Ive only managed to attend 3 and they were fun but majority of the time I was just pushing through crowds and purposefully nudging large sun burnt girls (sorry).

This year was a huge let down when i saw the first announcement, the line up was pretty much exactly the same as 2008
Peaches
Dizze rascal
Kasbian
Kora
PNC
Mars Volta
Forgive me if I'm wrong but i also believe Lilly Allen performed

Now don't get me wrong Peaches and Dizze Rascal were amazing but I always thought BDO were these legendary type days and you would always hear stories from your friends who's uncle went and saw Joe Strummer & The Mescaleros or someones older sister saw Sonic Youth

This year however there is a rumour going around that The Pogues are playing.
OH DEAR FUCKING LORD I HOPE THEY ARE COMING!
Ive been listening to The Pogues since I was about 10 , i eventually stole;e all their Cd's from my mother who loves Irish music (this has rubbed off on me)

If they did come i wonder what the state of the singer Shane Mcgowen would be , I heard that the band kicked him out but it just wouldn't be the pogues without a mutilated drunk Shane Mc Gowen

Anyway Ill leave you some lovely photos to look at

Haloween

So Halloween is around the corner , and i have come accross the dilema of what costume to where and what party to attend.

This year I am going to save myself from the stress and wear the costume i made last year, with some improvments .

Last year i dressed as a silent hill nurse

This is the only photo i have from that night =(

I didnt even bandage me face up and just looked like a dirty nurse.
No scalpel ,no hat, no blood, no dirt , no intent to kill

The goal:

I was thinking of making a head piece with news paper and glue then painting it

The Beginning

So I've started a blog

I was born and raised in New Zealand
My parents are separated (divorced when my mum wins lotto)
I'm flatting with my boyfriend Todd (I treasure him the most), two cats , two rats , another flatmate named Dee and a empty room shortly to be filled.
